According to the data presented by the Central Electoral Commission at the time of updating the information, there are 3,306,682 citizens of the Republic of Moldova registered in the State Register of Voters, of which 2,763,709 citizens with voting rights are assigned to second-level administrative-territorial units.
At the level of Edineț district, there are 60,590 citizens with voting rights registered in the State Register of Voters.
The State Register of Voters constitutes one of the important components of the electoral infrastructure, serving to ensure the record of voters and to contribute to the accurate formation of electoral lists. Maintaining complete and updated data is essential for the proper organization of elections and for the exercise of the right to vote.
In accordance with the provisions of art. 1 and art. 60 para. (2) and (3) of the Electoral Code no. 325/2022, the State Register of Voters is a unique integrated information system, intended for the record of voters and a component part of the Automated State Information System "Elections".
The data in the Register is updated based on the information provided by the State Population Register. This mechanism allows for the reflection of changes in voter data, including those regarding domicile or residence, as well as other relevant information for electoral records.
The rules regarding the formation, administration, and updating of the State Register of Voters are established by the Regulation on the State Register of Voters, approved by the Decision of the Central Electoral Commission no. 1140/2023.
The Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription no. 16 recommends that citizens verify the accuracy of the data concerning them in the electoral records and, in case of identifying discrepancies, report them to the competent authorities for remediation.
An accurate and updated electoral record contributes to the conduct of a transparent, organized electoral process in accordance with the rights of voters.
