On August 12, 2026, in my capacity as the Chairperson of the Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription No. 16, I participated in the online conference titled "The Decision to Run: Identifying Motivation, Setting Goals, and Defining One's Electorate," held as part of the "Accessibility Conferences" series and the Capacity Building Program for Persons with Disabilities for Participation in the 2027 General Local Elections.

During the conference, Ms. Irina Revin, Chairperson of the Association of Entrepreneurs with Disabilities in the Republic of Moldova "European Skills Without Limits," an expert in political participation, leadership, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities, addressed important aspects regarding:

🔹identifying personal motivation to run;🔹setting clear and realistic political objectives;🔹identifying the strengths of a future candidate;🔹defining the electorate and the electoral message;🔹building an authentic, credible, and coherent candidacy.

An important message of the event was the encouragement of active participation of persons with disabilities in public life and electoral processes, including as candidates and participants in the decision-making process.

As the Chairperson of the Edineț Electoral Council, I believe that a democratic electoral process must provide equal opportunities for participation for every citizen, and accessibility and inclusion must be an integral part of this process.

We appreciate initiatives that contribute to strengthening an inclusive electoral culture and promoting the right of every person to actively participate in community life and in decision-making that affects their future.
