In the context of marking the International Day of Democracy, the Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription No. 16 held an informational activity at the "Pan Halippa" Theoretical High School.

The purpose of the activity was to inform and raise awareness among students regarding the values and principles of democracy, citizens' rights and responsibilities, the importance of civic participation, and the role of youth in democratic processes.

During the meeting, topics concerning the essence of democracy, fundamental rights and freedoms, civic participation, the importance of informed and responsible voting, as well as free and fair elections were addressed.

Particular emphasis was placed on the role of youth in the democratic life of the community. Students were encouraged to inform themselves, to know their rights and responsibilities, and to actively participate in democratic processes, including by getting involved in the organization of elections.

In this context, it was also mentioned that the director of the "Pan Halippa" Theoretical High School participates as an electoral official, an experience that provides a concrete example of involvement in the organization and conduct of the electoral process.

Moreover, students were made aware that one of the polling station offices operates within the premises of the "Pan Halippa" Theoretical High School, which makes the institution directly connected to the electoral process and the democratic life of the community.

During the discussions, students were urged to inform themselves and to certify in the electoral field, so that they could later participate as electoral officials. It was emphasized that youth involvement is not limited to exercising the right to vote but can also include direct participation in the organization and conduct of elections, under the conditions provided by law.

The activity took place in an open and interactive atmosphere. Students asked questions, expressed their opinions, and participated in discussions about democracy, responsibility, civic participation, and respect for differing opinions.

Through such activities, the Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription No. 16 contributes to the development of civic and electoral culture among the younger generation and encourages the active and responsible involvement of youth in democratic processes.

We thank the administration of the "Pan Halippa" Theoretical High School for their openness, support, and for the opportunity to conduct this informational activity among students.

Young people are not only the voters of tomorrow - they can also be the electoral officials who contribute to today's elections.
