In the context of the International Day of Democracy, on September 16, 2026, the president of the Leova District Electoral Council No. 22, Roxana Ceoric, paid a visit to the Town Hall of the village of Cneazevca, Leova District, where she held a meeting with the secretary of the Cneazevca communal council, Doina Ungureanu, local public administration employees, as well as electoral officials who had worked in the electoral bodies during previous elections.

The focus of the meeting was democracy and the importance of citizen participation in democratic processes, emphasizing the role of elections as one of the main forms through which citizens exercise their right to participate in public life. The discussions addressed the principles of participation in elections - direct, universal, secret, freely expressed, and equal voting, as well as the citizens' right to choose and participate in the electoral process.

An important topic of discussion was also the involvement of citizens in the electoral process, including exercising the right to vote, verifying electoral lists, working within electoral bodies, observing elections, and participating in electoral education and information activities.

Additionally, practical aspects related to the proper organization of electoral processes were discussed, including the updating of the State Register of Voters, the responsibilities and duties of the registrar, as well as the importance of maintaining accurate and updated data about voters.

Another chapter of the discussions focused on the risks and vulnerabilities in organizing electoral processes and measures to prevent them. In this context, challenges related to the security of digital infrastructure, manipulation, and disinformation were discussed, as well as the importance of strengthening measures to protect the integrity of the electoral process. The certification of electoral officials and the importance of continuous training for those involved in organizing elections were also addressed. The competence and responsibility of electoral officials are important elements for the proper conduct of electoral processes.

The meeting in Cneazevca thus served as an opportunity for information, dialogue, and exchange of experiences, contributing to a better understanding of the role of each participant in the electoral process and the shared responsibility for strengthening democratic values.
