"Elections - a lesson on civic responsibility" - public hour held at the "Ion Vatamanul" Gymnasium in Mândreștii Noi

In the context of the actions dedicated to the International Day of Democracy, celebrated annually on September 15, the President of the CEC no. 28 Sângerei, Oleg Tudosan, together with the trainer of the IP "Center for Continuous Training in the Electoral Field" (CICDE), Gheorghe Rață, conducted a civic and electoral education activity entitled "Elections - a Lesson on Civic Responsibility."

The activity aimed to familiarize students with the four essential roles that a person can have in an election: voter, candidate, electoral official, and observer, as well as to understand the importance of each role for the proper conduct of the electoral process.

The public hour took place at the "Ion Vatamanul" Gymnasium in Mândreștii Noi, with the participation of eighth and ninth-grade students from the host institution, as well as students from the Bilicenii Noi Gymnasium.

The choice of these educational institutions, including smaller ones, aimed to ensure equal opportunities for information and civic education for all students, regardless of the locality in which they study.

During the activity, democratic values were promoted, and the idea was emphasized that democracy is not limited to the mere exercise of the right to vote. It is built day by day through information, dialogue, involvement in community life, respect for rights, and the assumption of civic responsibility.

To reinforce the information discussed in an interactive manner, a mini-electoral quiz was organized at the end of the activity. The most active students were rewarded with symbolic gifts provided by CICDE.

The message that concluded the activity was simple yet important:

For democracy to become a reality in the daily life of a society, it must become a reality in the daily life of the school.
