On September 17, 2026, the Chairperson of the Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription No. 16, Natalia Stănișor, participated online in the URSO 2026 validation webinar, organized within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Improving Electoral Practices in the Republic of Moldova - IEPRM (2025-2028)."

The activity brought together representatives of the Central Electoral Commission, chairpersons of the level II electoral councils, experts and consultants from the Council of Europe and the ISIG Institute.

The purpose of the webinar was to present and discuss the preliminary conclusions of the evaluation of the current Strategic Program of the CEC, as well as to validate them together with representatives of the institution. The evaluation is based on the URSO Benchmark, document analysis, consultations with stakeholders, and other data collected during the evaluation process in 2026.

During the working sessions, the achievements and challenges of the current strategic cycle were addressed, the areas that require strengthening, as well as the aspects that need to be considered in developing future priorities and strategic indicators for the period 2027-2032. Participants had the opportunity to provide feedback, clarifications, and observations on the preliminary conclusions.

An important element of the activity was the reflection on the institutional and operational capacities of the CEC, the inter-institutional and systemic challenges, as well as the lessons that can contribute to improving electoral processes and strengthening the strategic development of the institution.

The participation of representatives of the electoral councils of the circumscription in such activities contributes to leveraging practical experience from the field, identifying aspects that require improvement, and strengthening institutional dialogue in the electoral domain.

The webinar was organized by the Council of Europe, the Central Electoral Commission, and ISIG, with the participation of national and international experts and consultants.
