On June 23, 2026, at the premises of the Sângerei District Council, the Chairman of the Electoral Circumscription Council No. 28 Sângerei, Mr. Oleg Tudosan, participated in a working meeting with the mayors and secretaries of the first-level local public administration authorities in the district.

During the meeting, several current topics concerning the legal competencies of local public administration in electoral processes were addressed, as well as the importance of effective collaboration between local public authorities and electoral bodies.

One of the main topics discussed was the process of certifying electoral officials and the necessity of ensuring a sufficient number of certified individuals for the organization and conduct of the general local elections in 2027. In this context, participants analyzed the estimated need for electoral officials and the ways in which local administrations can contribute to identifying and encouraging potential candidates for certification.

Additionally, aspects related to the compliance with deadlines and legal procedures regarding the early termination of local councilors' mandates were examined, as well as the procedure for assigning mandates to substitute councilors. Participants were reminded of the importance of promptly and completely transmitting the necessary documents to the electoral bodies, to ensure compliance with legal provisions and to avoid situations of prolonged vacancy of elective mandates.

Another important subject of discussion was the activity of registrars within the mayoralties in the process of updating the State Register of Voters. Their responsibilities regarding the correct and timely entry of changes into the register were highlighted, as well as the necessity for prompt resolution of conflicts and discrepancies identified, in order to ensure the accuracy of electoral data.

Moreover, participants discussed the role and support that local public administration authorities can provide in the process of monitoring the financing of political parties. In this regard, the importance of institutional cooperation and information exchange, within the limits of the competencies provided by legislation, was emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Oleg Tudosan thanked the representatives of local public administration for their openness and active involvement in fulfilling their electoral responsibilities, mentioning that good collaboration between local authorities and electoral bodies is an essential condition for conducting transparent, efficient electoral processes in accordance with legal provisions.
