The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) continues the process of strengthening institutional capacities in the field of electoral risk management. In this context, on August 26, 2026, the President of the Electoral Council No. 28 Sângerei - Oleg Tudosan, participated in the second working workshop within the project. This workshop focused on validating the Strategy for reconfiguring the institutional architecture of risk management and recommendations regarding the implementation of this strategy at the level of electoral bodies.

The activity was organized with the support of International IDEA and the European Union, being conducted in a focus group format, with the participation of CEC officials and the Continuous Training Center in Electoral Matters (CICDE).

At the opening of the workshop, the CEC Secretary, Dana Munteanu, emphasized that the experience gained in organizing and conducting national elections, as well as the activities carried out in recent years in the field of risk management, highlighted the need for developing an integrated approach at the institutional level. In this regard, the development of the Integrated Risk Management Strategy of the Central Electoral Commission for the years 2027-2029 aims to create a coherent framework for identifying, assessing, preventing, and managing risks, as well as ensuring a rapid and coordinated response in the event of crisis situations.

During the workshop, the draft Strategy was presented, and participants analyzed the main provisions of the document and formulated proposals and recommendations for its finalization. The proposals and recommendations formulated during the workshop will be systematized and utilized in the process of finalizing the documents, taking into account the institutional needs of the CEC and CICDE. These will contribute to the development of an integrated, coordinated, and sustainable system for managing electoral risks.
