On August 4, 2026, the Chairperson of the Electoral Council of the Edineț District Electoral Circumscription No. 16, Natalia Stănișor, conducted a working visit to the Edineț Municipality City Hall, where she met with the Secretary of the Municipal Council, Mircea Moraru, in his capacity as the registrar of the State Register of Voters.

During the discussions, several important topics regarding the administration of the electoral process and the updating of the State Register of Voters were addressed, namely:

the methods of identifying and resolving conflicts within the State Register of Voters, as well as the types of conflicts encountered in the activities of registrars;

the situations in which deceased individuals are found on the electoral lists and the mechanism for resolving these cases in Edineț Municipality, considering the large population and the associated workload;

the importance of certifying future electoral officials, with a view to strengthening the body of electoral officials and ensuring adequate professional training for the organization and conduct of elections.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, highlighting the necessity of ongoing collaboration between local public administration authorities and electoral bodies to maintain an updated State Register of Voters and to ensure a transparent and efficient electoral process.
